Matt's Mentions: Robin and Batman #1

Robin and Batman By Lemire and Nguyen
Do we need another entry into the early years of Batman? The idea of Robin is a problematic one in our day and time. What kind of hero uses kids as his soldiers in a war on crime? This book leans into that question. Once upon a time the character of Robin was a way for young readers to envision themselves in the story. But I digress. Is the Book good? The art alone is worth the price of admission. It’s a three book ark. Not too heavy time or money commitment. While I’m not yet captivated by the plot, Jeff Lemire has a track record of brilliant stories so I’m not counting this one out yet. So do we need another Batman & Robin, the early years… maybe. Do we need more books by Lemire and Nguyen absolutely!
